The Mary Mind
by John Mark Lucas
Rev. Elizabeth Forrest
This book is timely in so many ways.
The world we live in today is full of fear, and often, it is religion that stirs that fear through political and cultural alignment instead of loving, compassionate, spiritual guidance. Jesus taught only Peace and Love, but too often he is used to justify war and hate. This has left those looking to Jesus for spiritual meaning in their lives unmoored.
The Mary Mind is a helpful anchor and offers a bridge between religion and spirituality. It looks at the stories of Jesus in the gospels as spiritual parables instead of religious dogma, and sees Mary, the mother of Jesus, as the serene example of someone who was receptive to being filled with the light of Christ Consciousness.
It’s a short book and has a bit of humor in it. We hope you’ll take an hour or so to read it and then share it with your friends if so inspired.
